I’m Kath Garwood, Certified Sleep Nanny® and early years specialist with 20+ years’ experience supporting children from newborn to pre-teens. I’ve helped over 1,000 families improve sleep, and I also support and train sleep nannies at Sleep Nanny HQ.
My work is gentle, evidence-based and tailored, so you get results without cry-it-out.
I have had several roles over the years including behaviour management and nursery manager. I use my knowledge of childhood development alongside my additional studies into mindfulness and positive psychology to support families with a gentle approach to sleep training.
Bringing a combination of science and soul to each case. I know first-hand how difficult life is when you are sleep deprived as I was there with my own daughter too.

She always knows exactly what changes to make (however big or small) to get our babies sleeping better!! I couldn’t recommend her more highly. This time we worked with Kath to help our 5 month old learn to self settle, get rid of the dummy and swaddle, establish a good nap routine, and get him sleeping through the night. We felt so lucky to be recommended her by a friend. It got to the point we were dreading bed time with our 7 year old every single night as he always prolonged everything and never settled well. At times he wasn’t asleep until 10pm and he would be up and down stairs,getting upset and needing one of us to stay with him until that time. It was a nightmare.
Kath has turned our lives around. Not only has she got him asleep by 7.30-7.40pm every night, she’s also got him sleeping longer in the morning too! She has spent so much time setting a new sleep plan tailored just for him as well as keeping in touch regularly (with us, and our son!) to see how things are going and to make any necessary changes. Kath was available to answer questions any time and always got back to me very quickly with answers! We are absolutely amazed and thrilled to have our evenings back and seeing our son less tired has meant his mood is much better during the day too! We cannot recommend Kath highly enough. It’s been great having her involved!

Kath has been absolutely amazing. With her support we managed get our 18 month old to sleep in her own cot throughout the night. Prior to this our little one hated her cot, she would only sleep, if rocked or cuddled and co-slept most nights. She was always restless and wake lots during the night leading to little or no sleep for everyone involved.
Kath prepared a two week sleep plan which suited our needs and parenting style. In the middle of our sleep plan, our little one was poorly with teething and a tummy bug, Kath was able to troubleshoot to avoid us returning to bad habits and got us back on track. We were grateful for her ongoing support.
We were relieved that Kath didn't use a 'cry it out' method and were surprised at how quickly our little one took to the gentle sleeping plan devised by Kath. A month on and our little girl now enjoys sleeping in her cot and is able to self-sooth when she wakes up at night. She wakes up happy and refreshed, and so do we! We never thought this would be possible.
